Leitz Tooling donates circular saw blades to DIY:SOS Harlow, the BBC’s flagship home renovations TV show.
DIY:SOS has been on the air since 1999 and has helped to transform the lives of over 20,000 people.
Leitz Tooling is proud to announce that we are donating circular saw blades to the BBC TV show DIY SOS, which is currently building a mental health and wellbeing community centre in Harlow, Essex. The charity is being supported by the BBC's Eastenders show, and the build is taking place from Wednesday 25 to Tuesday 31 October 2023.
Butterfly Effect Well-Being is a community support charity offering a wide range of services and support to the local community. Currently operating from a portacabin, the Harlow council has donated land and a building to the charity to help them grow the organisation.
The former caretakers bungalow has been gifted to the organisation Butterfly Effect Well Being, but is in a state of disrepair. With support from local tradespeople and suppliers like Leitz Tooling, the DIY:SOS team have set out to rebuild this site into a vibrant campus for the organisation. The DIY:SOS team is made up of a core group from the show but relies heavily on donations from suppliers and professional trades people who volunteer their own time for the project.
Butterfly Effect Well-Being is planning to host a variety of events and classes to support the local community, from cooking workshops to mental health support and counselling sessions.
Leitz Tooling is a leading manufacturer of high-quality circular saw blades and a service provider for saw blade sharpening. Our circular saw blades are used by professional factories, tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts alike, and we are proud to be supporting such a worthwhile cause.
Our donation of circular saw blades will help the volunteer tradesmen and DIY SOS team to complete the build of the new wellbeing hub on time and to budget. The saw blades will be used for a variety of tasks, such as cutting wood, plywood, and MDF. Leitz will also be offering a free saw blade sharpening service to all tradespeople who volunteered their time for the project.
To help ensure a TV-ready finish quality, Leitz tooling has provides the show with a selection of saw blades from our triple pack. Including circular sawblades for trimming, sizing and thin kerf. Included in our donation is our flagship portable saw blade, the AccuCut. Designed with a thin kerf and for long tool life, the AccuCut’s reduced noise and dust output will help the DIY:SOS team to produce high quality work whilst maintaining high health and safety standards.
We are confident that our donation will make a real difference to the lives of people in Harlow. The new wellbeing hub will provide a much-needed space for people to come together and receive support for their mental health.
Leitz Tooling believes heavily in social responsibility, that’s why we dedicate so much time to help local charities across the globe to gain support and traction though our “WeCare” programme. We are excited to be given this opportunity to help our local community through what we do best: tooling.
